Upcoming NHS Events
National Honor Society is a national organization that recognizes students who excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students will be invited to apply for NHS membership their junior and/or senior year if they have a cumulative GPA of 3.65 or higher.
The NHS application and evaluation process will be undertaken by a Faculty Council of five members. Each student's application will be reviewed and applicants will be scored based on teacher feedback and the Council's assessment of the member's leadership, service, and character.
Teachers will give each student scores out of 5 for leadership, service, and character based on their application materials. These scores will be averaged to create a score out of 5 points for each student for each pillar (leadership, service, character).
The NHS Council will meet after all applications are submitted, review candidates' applications, create a cut score, and will use that cut score to determine who is inducted into NHS.
