*Masonic Scholarship (Grand Lodge of Iowa, A.F. & A.M.)

Amount varies, due 2/1/23 The Grand Lodge of Iowa, A.F. & A.M., located at 813 First Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, will be awarding up to sixty scholarships to high school seniors who will graduate this academic year from a public high school within the state of Iowa. The exact dollar amount of each scholarship will depend upon the size of investment income from the Scholarship Endowment Fund

The scholarships are designed to assist graduating seniors in pursuing a post-secondary education in any state at an accredited institution which provides a two- or four-year college program. The scholarships may be used for any bona fide school related expense such as tuition, fees, and boo
Applicants need not have a Masonic connection, nor do race, creed, religion, color, sex, or national origin have any bearing in the selection process. Recipients are selected after completing a comprehensive written application and an in-depth personal interview.
A broad-based criterion is used in the selection process. The principal criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas. The Grand Lodge of Iowa is looking for those students who exhibit the greatest potential to be not only of service to their communities in the future but also leaders in these communities. An applicant’s academic record, communication skills, and need for financial assistance are also carefully considered as is an evaluation of the applicant by a school official. The organization, appearance, and completeness of the application are also factors considered by the selection committee.
From all the applications received, the Scholarship Selection Committee will select a number of finalists who will be asked to appear before the committee for a personal interview. These interviews will be either conducted in person at a number of locations across the state, or via Zoom Video Conferencing. Upon completion of the interviews, the committee will then select those who will receive scholarship

Iowa National Guard Officers Auxiliary Student Scholarship

Amount varies, Due 2/1/23 Open to dependents of an Iowa National Guard Member (current or retired). Student Applicants need to be a graduating senior or incoming freshman, and pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree or a certificate program

Darryl Jahn Memorial Scholarship by Beta Sigma Psi (ISU)

$2,000, Due 2/5

Available for Lutheran Men attending Iowa State Fall 2023

Legacy Award by Elk National Foundation

$4,000 Due 2/6/23

Available to children or grandchildren of Elks members. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. The Elk must be a paid-up member through March 31, 2023.The student will need to complete and submit the ONLINE application

Conservation Scholarships by CDI & SWCD

Amount varies, $500-$3,000

Due 2/10/23CDI is partnering with local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) to foster the higher education endeavors of Iowa students interested in conservation and agriculture by offering scholarships. Iowa High School Class of 2023 students pursuing programs of study in any field of conservation or agriculture qualifies for the Conservation Scholarship. While this is a wide field and many studies qualify, preference will be given to students pursuing programs of study in conservation. The scholarship must be used for the student’s first year of college education

Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship by Landus

$2,000 Due 2/24/23Scholarship Requirements

  • Applicant and/or parent (guardian) must be a voting member (Class A) in good standing of Landus, account number required.
  • Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in the spring of the 2022/2023 school year.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicant must pursue a career in an agriculture or life sciences field of study attending the accredited post-secondary school of his or her choice.
  • Dependents of directors and officers of Landus are not eligible to apply for this scholarship

Midland Power Cooperative Scholarship

$1,000, due 1/31/23

College-bound dependents of Midland Power member-consumers are encouraged to complete an application form and submit it by January 31, 2023, to be considered to receive a scholarship in the fall of 2023.

U of I: Strayer-Rairden Scholarship

$1,000 (renewable for up to 3 successive years following the initial award), due 1/31/23

This person is selected by the Department of Physics and Astronomy as the state's best qualified applicant who matriculates at the University of Iowa and has declared physics or astronomy as their major. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, not financial need.
